Setting Things Into Motion

Good morning.

I believe that writing a blog post, first thing in the morning, is a great idea. Since I get to set myself a goal for the day, which in turn leads to me getting out of bed sooner.

This might not be how it works, but frankly, I don’t give a damn.

Now that I’ve decided to add writing a blog post at the start of the day to my routine, I might as well add more. I might be going too quickly, but we’ll find out whether or not that’s the case later.

Okay… drawing. Yesterday I watched PewDiePie’s second drawing video. The one in which he shares his results of drawing for 100 days.

I am really impressed by the progress. The sketches/drawings look amazing.

And yes, I’m not supposed to compare myself to others who are further down the line than I am, or to anyone in general. So I won’t do that.

I just need to commit to drawing, every day.

I’ll start doing that before trying to add other things into my schedule.

After I’ve published this post, I’ll start getting ready for the day. I’ll clear my desk too, and make sure to draw for at least 15 minutes. I’ll possibly end up sharing my results, no matter how dreadful they may be, either today or tomorrow.

Tomorrow kinda sounds like a better idea, since I’ll get to see what I could improve on before starting to draw on that day. Sounds awesome.

I wake up, write a blog post, decide on my goal for the day, discover ways in which I could improve on my drawings, prepare for the day, practice drawing, and…

…all of that will happen in the morning. Awesome. Then I’ll be free to do whatever I want with the rest of the day.

As always, of course. It’s just that I’ll have made some sort of progress, and then won’t have to worry about anything else.

Also, once my drawing skills improve, I’ll probably be more willing to incorporate them into my projects, which I’ll probably end up working on in the afternoon.

One thing I forgot to mention earlier is the fact that by limiting the amount of time I have to draw in the day, at least for now, I’ll be giving myself something to look forward to, to continue on from, the next day.

And then, over time, it’ll become a part of my routine. A part of what I do. Because it takes some time for a new habit to form.

Which means that publishing a blog post, first thing in the morning, isn’t something I automatically do, but rather something I choose to do.

Something I want to do.

And right now, I want to get ready for the day. And to let you carry on with your day.

So… thank you for reading. And have a lovely day.
